I first picked up a camera in my early teens at my sister’s wedding, but it wasn’t until almost ten years later when living in London that my love affair with the captured image really took off.
After returning to Glasgow from London I worked on developing my portfolio and entered the Glasgow College of Building and Printing to undertake a 2 year diploma shortly afterwards.
During my studies I developed my portfolio while picking up work with a range of broadsheet newspapers and with a well established Glasgow portrait studio. I graduated in June 2006 with the Principal’s Prize for Best Performing Student in the School of Communication and Media, having also been shortlisted for Young Photographer of the Year at the Scottish Press Photography Awards for 3 consecutive years.
Over the years I have steadily built up my portfolio, having now shot full-time as a photographer for the last 10 years and travelled extensively to 26 countries in 5 continents.
My background in press photography has placed me in a good position to continue shooting in a documentary style for my Wedding, Portrait and Commercial clients.
In 2014, my wife Fiona and I, along with our son Ally, decided to move north to Inverness to be closer to our family roots. I’m looking forward to further developing my portfolio and client base from the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
